A 5th edition poetry book is $80! But the 4th edition is $30. Honestly now, is there a difference between editions?Yes, I looked all over for the textbook. Half.com, Amazon, etc. It's so expensive.

The difference is that some of the content has changed and likely some of the page numbers have changed. You should see if you can borrow a fifth edition and compare to see how different they are. Some are so similar that the only thing that changes iare the page numbers or the cover art.

Often the only thing that changes are page and problem numbers - and that can lead to you doing the wrong homework. So if you do buy the older edition, you'll have to keep checking the actual assignment against a newer edition somewhere.

There are many differences but not significant ones. Some of the pages might be different but the same information will be there. You might, however, want to just rent the fifth edition textbook so you don't have to have the old textbook... try a website like Chegg.com

Really it depends on your teacher. I was in an english class with a previous edition and i was able to get by because all buy on of the essays we needed to read happened to be in the older ed. See if you can get a list of all the poems you will have to read before you buy the book and check its comcompatibilityr share a book with a friend.

the content is pretty much the same, might be a bit more updated in the latter edition. i've used an old textbook edition for class before and i went through the syllabus ahead of time and revised the page numbers for my outdated edition book. It was totally fine and i recommend it, especially if it means saving that much money!
