I want to become an Architect without attending college. What is the fastest most effective way to do it?
I'm incredibly disciplined and ambitious and have a natural thirst for learning. In my past, I've opted for shorter trade school programs (1-2 years) and had huge success in getting employed. For example, I went to Musician's Institute for 1 year and upon graduating, immediately got into a full-time teaching job... transitioning into private instruction after I built my contact list from the job. (private instruction pays much better).More recently, I took a Web Design program through the Art Institute on-line which was 1.5 years long, 2 months before graduating, I landed a paid internship with a small Web Firm based in Santa Monica, 3rd St. Promenade, evolving in 2 months to a salary position. After 6 months total, I moved up to a Web Developer position at Paramount Pictures where I currently reside. If anyone has advice or knowledge in the field of Architecture, I'm all ears! On-line school has taught me to hone the art of learning. I realized about 4 months into my Art Institute Online education that I could have learned everything for a fraction of the cost by myself. The courses were often unorganized, the instructor unmotivated and slow to respond and the textbooks even were low-rated by reviews. So acting on my realization, I picked up about a dozen books on Architecture (all high-ratings/reviews from Amazon) and am perusing the web for more information. Thanks everyone!Namaste,Dey
