kinda long but bear with meHudson is a beast and when he's healthy he will be again, Tommy Hanson is arguably the 2009 top pitching prospect in the game...With everyone healthy they've got a solid 7 or 8 man rotation lol--Derek Lowe (got the big bucks...and never a health risk)--Tim Hudson (until now never been hurt and one of the best)--Jair Jurrjens (surprising 2008 and projects greatly for 09')--Javier Vazquez (Coming to the NL will be really good for him, coule lead the NL in K's)--Kenshin Kawakami (Japans newest import projects as a MLB #3 starter)--Tom Glavine (HOF resume, but has fallen more than a little)--Tommy Hanson (Top pitching prospect in the game.braves future ACE)--Jorge Campillo (VERY surprising 2008 and easily a solid #5 starter for anyone)I'm not including any other guys that were expected to fight for the 5 spot like Charlie Morton, James Parr and JoJo Reyes, i know, nice problem to have. But whats the solutionok, seems like people arent understanding what i'm asking, Depth is good, basically who will be the 2 odd men out? Glavine? would Atl really do that to him?

They have a great pitching staff not including Campillo, but Hanson probably won't even pitch this year due to the depth, but may get some starts in september

They will finish 3rd.Last year is irrelevant when looking at young big league pitchers.Over 6 K's per 9 innings by a first year or rookie pitcher is the best indicator of continued pitching success in the major leagues. Don't forget, big league hitters make adjustments too.

Vasquez pitched for the DBacks in 2005 and his era hovered around 5:00 the entire year. He's not that great, even for the N.L. There was one year, 2003, where he was very good, but thats it.I think the Braves have a great rotation. They will make great competition for the Phillies and Mets in the N.L. East. They might be a wild card team if Francoeur or somebody has a breakout year for power.I don't know who they have for closer, so I don't know how their bullpen is gonna do.

and not one star among them. Hudson has not lived up to expectations with the Braves. Lowe is good. Jurrgens looked good last year. Vasquez, great stuff, but erratic. Even if all the above pitched well you only have a 5 man rotation. Also, in the last 15 years, the Braves have never had a closer who had been consistent, and still do not. They are probably the best team in baseball over the last 15- 20 years, and only won one championship. I am not throwing water on your team, as I love baseball, and attend 25+ games a year. Good luck!

So jason u seem to be a braves fan like me....sorry that no one is really answering ur question!!When Huddy comes back I think the rotation will be Huddy, Lowe, Jurrjens, Vazquez and GlavineWith that being said I think that Hanson will get great starts in AAA and be ready in September when we need him. Also this was a hard qauestion but I think Kawakami will struggle in his first year in the states!! I would hope not but that is the only way I can justify my predictions haha!! Campillo and Kawakami might end up being long relievers for us wen Huddy comes back!! Plus Kawakami's endurance wont be there all year I dont think. Its diff than what he is use to. GO BRAVES 2009!!
