im trying to upload a video on to the site to edit my movie i recorded. i am technically retarded, so bear with me. i put the little c.d. thing that says dvd-rw on it and put it in the c.d. slot in the computer. when i clicked on capture from video device it wouldn't work. so i put the disk back in the video camera and plugged the whole thing in and when i clicked capture from video device it said" a video capture device was not detected.verify that a device is turned on and properly connected" i need this video edited by friday and i can't even figure out how to save it to the computer to import it! please help!

I think you mean to say the file you're trying to upload wont show up.Well, windows movie maker somtimes doesnt support all video files. you can go on google and search "free video file coverters" and convert the video to a file that windows movie maker supports.and if you want to post your video, make sure its "published".File >> Publish as >>- Computer- DVDetc.. (choose which one you want to put it on)When you publish it to your computer, it saves it on your computer as a .wmv file, which allows you to upload the video to many video sharing sites, such as youtube.If you publish it to a DVD-R , you can watch your video on any dvd player that plays burned discs!good luck!
