But I think that some of the stuff was imported and that scares me. Now I think I am going to get worms or somethingI feel like I cant eat anything!!!!!!!!! Even at home.. no canned hash...no hot dogs, no sandwich meat, no beef that is slightly pink. No bagged salad, no leftovers, no soft cheese, no salami, no honey, a small amout of fish. I worry everytime I put something in my mouth...I am so sick of this...I like stuff that no everyone likes too ...I like kidneys, liver, sushi, blood sausage etc....Man this sucks what can I do? Is there a list of things that we CAN eat??????????thanks!Oh and then there is the whole Sunny side up/basted eggs that I miss and the holndase sauce...grrrrrrrr

Here you go here is a list of foods you should avoid during pregnancy...Don't eat: * Raw meat such as sushi, seafood, or rare/undercooked beef or poultry, because of the risk of contamination with coliform bacteria, toxoplasmosis, and salmonella. * Raw eggs, or foods containing raw egg, such as Caesar dressing, mayonnaise, homemade ice cream or custard, unpasteurized eggnog, or Hollandaise sauce, because raw eggs may be contaminated with salmonella. * Soft cheese such as blue cheese, feta, Brie, Camembert, and Latin-American soft white cheeses such as queso blanco and queso fresco, because they may harbor harmful bacteria. * Fish containing accumulated levels of mercury in their fatty tissues such as shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tilefish. When a pregnant woman consumes large amounts of mercury, her baby may suffer brain damage resulting in developmental delays (for example, delays in learning to walk or talk). * Fish containing high levels of an industrial pollutant called polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in their fatty tissues such as bluefish and striped bass, and freshwater fish such as salmon, pike, trout, and walleye from contaminated lakes and rivers. According to the March of Dimes, consumption of large amounts of PCBs by pregnant women is linked to decreased attention, memory, and IQ in their babies. Check with your local Health Department to determine which fish in your area are safe to eat.I was also told to avoid eating hot dogs and pre-prepared frozen meals....

You can eat anything you want while pregnant. They key is moderation. Small amounts of foods will not make you or your baby sick.I ate sushi while pregnant with my son and lunchmeat with my daughter and they are healthy and I lived. You would have to eat massive amounts daily of the foods "not recommended during pregnancy" for any harm to be done to you or the baby.Relax!

Hi! I was like this earlier in my pregnancy. I thought for a while, that even one sub sandwich from a restaurant was going to make me sick and hurt the baby. Then I slowly got over it, but those crazy thoughts still cross my mind. I love feta and blue cheese (I've stayed away from them.) I learned that the juice we drink should be pasterized. I drank 2 containers that didn't have the word on the container. I didn't know. It's all trial an error. Here, I found a link that has the stuff we CAN eat. Good luck.

Hi there! I am 10 weeks pregnant with my first, and I am a little paranoid about everything, but after talking to my doctor, all those foods you shouldn't eat are for potential things that could be bad! The only foods I'm really avoiding would be raw fish (so no sushi for me
which I love) but I am still eating lunch meat and bagged salad. You just have to be careful and eat it in moderation, I don't eat it every day, but definatley a few times a week. Just focus on being healthy and eating lots of veggies and fruits and carbohydrates! You'll be fine! CONGRATS on your pregnancy!!Toni Lynne ![]() |

I was the same way in the early part of this pregnancy, and it was easy to avoid certain foods because I wasn't eating anything besides crackers and sour candies. Yeah, but then partway through the second trimester, when hunger and strong cravings really kicked in, I threw caution to the wind. At least once a week, I have a chili cheese dog. I also eat lunch meat once or twice a week. I had sushi the other day, a smoked salmon roll of course (and really it wasn't as good as when I am not pregnant for some reason). When I have salad at an Italian restaurant (Like Bucca's or Carino's), I always get feta or gorgonzola cheese on it, which is about once a week. So far (I am almost 26 weeks), I have been okay and most importantly, so is my baby. I think as long as it in moderation, it is okay. It is good to be a bit cautious, just don't let it make you crazy. Below is a link to a website that has a list of not only food that is/isn't safe during pregnancy, but other things too, such as x-rays, tattoos, etc. http://www.americanpregnancy.org/isitsafe/
