BUT From what I can remember, last year the world hated us, but now they love us? How wishy washy, to judge a whole nation on one person (BUSH)? And they wonder why we ignore then, who wants friends like that? And most of the world don't appreciate America/Americans anyway so why should/would we help them (culture,people,etc). Anyway, I'm not bashing anyone, I just don't think it's fair to us or OUR president-elect to make him feel as if he has to fix everything, we want a healthy president not a stressed out one. I think we keep him busy alone. And he wasn't born in Kenya he was born in America, and he only met his dad once so he isn't all that "Kenyan" he's American and last I checked he wasn't Muslim (I mention that cause in the last question someone had the nerve to say that.) I'm of African decent, but I'm also native American, German, English.a ton of things so because his dad's African it doesn't make him African or Muslim.Is it fair to him or us for them to feel as if he/we have to help them or that we voted for them as if they are part of OUR country? And some people have said we are dumb and ignorant and don't know anything about other countries, but most foreigners can't even tell you what American culture is and it's right in their face. And when I was overseas some people didn't even know what their own culture was cause they thought ours was theirs, who is the dumb ones??? But when they need help they want us to help them??? I'm confused, do you like us or not?? And what I learned is you have to watch your "friends" closely,because overseas the people that was talking the worst about us were Canadians, they are closer than many of our other allies. But then again there is a superiority complex there (that part wasn't there the last question, but it's true for me).I say that cause some people get upset with America taking over there country....just to let them know when I was overseas I found out that America doesn't have the jurisdiction to takeover. Your government buys into our stuff and gives it to you, Americans don't just ram through your country and make you watch tv. You guys buy concert tickets, movie tickets.and etc by yourself soldiers don't come and make you do that. If you don't like American culture, tv, blah, blah.etc. Write a letter to the leader of your town, city, or country and ask him/her to stop importing American product,programs,movies,fashion,etc cause that's what happens.I'm not trying to bash anyone, I think other cultures are beautiful, that's why I don't understand why they don't focus on themselves more than us. We don't watch other people elections and stuff even if they do matter. Even if you care what happens in other places or whatever there is a fine line between concerned and overly concerned no matter how powerful someone is. So I'm trying to be rude I was just wondering why people are making him out to be some savior of the world. I know this isn't short but I had to add her little comment, it was so freaking crazy. Bit of a rant there..lol..Anyway I believe it is too early to tell whether he is deserving or not, but that is the position you take as the president of the United States. It is the single most influential nation in the world and will therefore have a large responsibility in shaping the way the world will move forward. Russia, the Middle east and China will be major issues he has to face in the near future and the way he handles it will speak volumes about his presidency. He is setting his agenda and has promised change so we will see what happens. So Canadians have a superiority complex eh? Even as close allies, Canadians are allowed to be critical of the actions of the United States and the previous government. Most Americans are highly critical of Bush's regime, his approval rating is indicative of that. So Canadians among other nationalities would be stating fact about the current state the United States government has left the world, not being insecure.
