the charges seem reasonable

Hi...I bought some furniture in Malaysia and it has arrived in LA and will be sent on to Oakland (where I live) soon. I've been contacted by a customs broker and he wants me to pay more than the customs fee and duty, which I think is strange. Can someone please explain to me what fees are reasonable when you're picking up a crate sent from abroad? I thought I paid everything except the customs duty in Malaysia, so now I'm surprised by the charges.Details:PIERPASS $11IMPORT HANDLING CHARGE $65DUTY $29.38BOND $60What the heck is the "bond"?
