.......donate worldwide and export from their own country, to help combat hunger and disease, as a humanitarian effort to contribute something positive to this world ?mm38: No moral high ground....just pointing our those critical of the US, in light of the positive things we have done, have done nothing themselves to contribute.

My guess is none. Do we have trade embargoes in place for all those countries that aren't offering international humanitarian aid? How about all countries with track records for consistent human rights violations? How many US soldiers were deployed, and for how long, to help end the genocide in Rwanda? Do we still send aid to those countries with corrupt governments whose citizens do not benefit from it? I'm hardly defending Iran, but it's laughable to me that some think it's okay to assume the moral high ground when most all "humanitarian" efforts on the part of all the "civilized" governments have been cherry picked while atrocities in many parts of the world go largely ignored.

Excellent question. and you are right, most of the countries that are critical of the US give little to nothing themselves. These are the gimmie, gimmie, welfare mentality countries.
