I thought I'd also mention that on the last weekend of this month they stage the Fira de l'aixada fair in Manresa. If you're in Barcelona at that time and at a loose end it makes a fun day trip. It closely follows the Festa de la LLum. 500 years ago the city was suffering a water shortage and the construction of an aquaduct to bring water to the city was delayed by a conflict.
