don't apologize, without even getting into the ethics of is it wrong or right to eat a dog she waited until you'd eaten some then told you what it was- but he sounds of it she knew you wouldn't have eaten it if she had told you first, talk to her if you like but I wouldn't apologize it seemed a bit sneaky- Don't feel so guilty, either- you didn't know what you were eating

Should you apologize and should you get back with her are two separate issues. If you don't think you over reacted, then do not apologize. If you think you overreacted, certainly apologize. If you want to get back with her, some kind of explanation is in order; an apology would probably help.You could explain to her that your reaction was caused by your shock and disgust at eating an animal that your culture regards as pets. People where you live do not ever eat dogs, or would even consider doing such a thing.

Oh my.. I'm filipino. Which I find eating dogs is utterly disgusting ! I don't think you're overreacting, but she should of told you before making you eat that. Ew, much. I was at the philippines 2 months ago and well, most of the dogs don't have any owners. Which means, the dog you might of ate came from the streets. Which could of been sick ! As for your girlfriend, talk it through with her. It's sad how you're putting the whole " dog-eating-incident " before talking it through. I think your girlfriend did an extremely crappy thing to you by not telling you. HOW RUDE. If someone did that to me, I don't think I could speak to them again. She was completely disrespectful of you and insensitive to YOUR culture by doing that...she needs to apologize to YOU.Again though, I don't think I could stay with someone who would do something like that. Ew. Um... I don't think you are over reacting. Yes, other cultures eat other meats that we don't normally think of, but if she really did pull some dog off the street or something of that effect, I don't think I could handle that and I don't blame you if you can't. Especially since she purposely gave it to you without telling you what it was.

I've been dating this filipino girl for about six months now. Four days ago she called me at work and told me she had a nice surprise for dinner that evening. She came home that night with a bunch of left overs from filipino pot luck she attended earlier. I was served a delicious hot plate that looked like a combination of shredded beef and rice with a red sauce all over it. After a few bites she looked at me with a big smile and said "Guess what that is???". That's when I stopped chewing and ask what it was. Dog, she freakin gave me a hot steaming plate of dog meat. I was so angry that I grabbed a large hand full of meat and threw it at her face. She called me a jerk and stormed out. Now, I lived in Korea for a year and I know that they eat dog there. But the dogs are raised there much like the cows are raised here. They don't eat any dog off the street. One of my filipino co-workers told me that there is no dog raising industry, they just grab any old mutt off the street. Now im left with the prospect of havin eatin somebodies pet. As im sure they didn't import this meat straight from the Philippines. Am I overreacting? Or should I apologize and get back with her?
