Tours of Stonehenge
One thing to note is that you're not allowed to stop on the road anywhere near Stonehenge officially because it's a major road and you can imagine the chaos of 100s cars parked. Mind you, doesn't exactly harm English Heritage who operate the official car park and access with what they charge to get close. Stonehenge is better when viewed close up compared to from the road, but as quite a lot of the stones have fallen down over the years and it costs a small fortune to get anywhere near it, I wouldn't travel vast distances to see it. Many many years ago they used to allow people up to the stones and that was more worthwhile, but now that it's fenced to "protect it" somehow the place lost its mystique and there are many much less crowded stone circles around. Trev.
