he might pull you on the jump but you're going to waste him on the top end... gotta love big blocks, cheap horsepower

Personally, I'm more of a tuner fan. But it's obvious a Camaro (with a built engine like yours) would easily beat a stock civic on the quarter. If you guys are racing on winding roads though...well, you might have a bit of a challenge. Also...what do you mean he has a blow-off valve? You'd need a turbo to have one of those, and a nicely-tuned, turbocharged car can pull some pretty impressive numbers. Take another look under his hood. You might be dealing with something with more kick than you thought. Then again, maybe you aren't. But even still, race the 1320 and you should win.

just with the big block you could beat him. if he does want to race you will you please video tape it for me i would love to see you smoke his @ss. i hate ricers they always act like they can beat anything. last guy that raced me was humiliated because he got smoked by a 01 dodge ram 2500 diesel(modded out) now that i lifted it 6in i dont think i can race it very well

The last ricer I raced with my Mach 1 beat me on initial start by two or three car lengths - when I got into second gear, I pulled away - and continued to pull away. The biggest advantage the ricers have is weight - but don't underestimate the ones that have been modified by people who are serious about performance and not so concerned with aesthetics.Regardless of the quarter mile elapsed times, I'll take good ol' American muscle any day for a more enjoyable cruise.

im just here to take a poll.american muscle or tuners?some dude at my school thinks that his riced out handa civic canbeat my 73 camaro. his car is stock except for his blow off valve and a body kit. my camaro has a 454 big block built by yours truely. Its bored .30 over with a 600 lift cam, aluminum heads, a 750 holly carb, and a butterflied air intake. hes dizzy if he thinks he could win. but what do you guys think?

I am going with the camaro. Unless you have to turn but on a straight 1/4 mile, you got him.
