I actually run tours to Stonehenge and the sunrise tours are really popular.I often liken your thoughts on Stonehenge to marmite, you either love it or hate it. I took my wife passed there on our way to London as opposed to taking the motorway as she has never seen it before... she was so excited, until she saw it! The dissappointment on her face was incredible, she said she was expecting to much more thank "a bunch of rocks in a field" as she put it! Of course, there are others who love it! You have to see it yourself to find out, but the early morning sunrise or late afternoon sunset tours are great..
