Several years ago I was confidently informed by a large digital agency that Yelp was to be the next big thing and that there were plans for Yelp to spend millions on TV campaigns to crack the British market, making them as big as they are in the States - I'm yet to see any real evidence of this happening.For me TripAdvisor is still king of the reviews, even though I'm not 100% comfortable with it's policies (like letting people write a review about a hotel without any proof that they have actually stayed). Having said that I am a firm believer that the cream always rises to the top..
