Hope I'm not too late to contribute to this but I have a very big soft spot for schools in the Rocky Mountain Northwest like the University of Utah. There is something about Salt Lake City that just gets me every time, and my education as a Ute was one of the best times of my life. As far as Washington goes, it is pretty rainy but really beautiful concentration. If you want to come visit Salt Lake City let me know and I can recommend some places to go, etc..
