True. The "Halles" and also the Northern Part (the area around the Moulin Rouge) are to be avoided (at night only). We can also add the Avenue des Champs Elyses, still at night (at day It's not dangerous at all). I would however say that, since all those areas are full of policemen watching over the place, this is quite secured in the same time. You're sure that, should you get into trouble, there's a police man not far from you. I would say that at night, the most dangerous areas are the isolated streets, where nobody can see or hear you. Last thing: avoid the night bus at night..
