Or in a similar area you could check out Leucate (just north of Perpignan). There are various campsites, we stayed at one of the municipal campsites (there are 2) which was pretty good value for money. The village itself is nice with some good restaurants and good beaches. The "Fitou" wine from the village winery is also pretty good and similarly well priced .
