If you're looking at Australian budgets, I may also be able to chime in. We regularly spent $1000 per week. That $1000 per week includes everything: we stay in hostels, eat in most meals, have a couple drinks out at bars a night each week, take public transport and go to festivals and events. We dont have a vehicle either. We do treat ourselves once a week, but over all we are budget travelers and have been in Australia now for 9 months, we've also been working for 7 of those. Australia is actually really expensive and I could never dream of traveling here for a long time unless I was working..

This is true that Austrelia is very expensive place to travel. If you planning to travel for the 2 or 3 month of time it will cost you really big amount. So it is good to best planning before going to Australia.
