I've been living in Medellin since May 2011. It's been a wonderful experience. The city is know as The City of Eternal Spring. There are many universities, private tutors and even gringos if you find yourself missing English. There are some great places to visit nearby (Guatape, Santa Fe de Antioquia, Rio Claro, etc).
