If you give French a little effort, (Bonjour, Merci, Pardon, Sil vous plait etc) it will get you far in Quebec. You'll be surprised that many folks, even in Quebec City don't speak much English at all! Doesn't take away from the beauty of the province though! Strolling around Quebec City is so romantic/quaint.. you feel like you are in a movie I've been going up there from Maine for years, and it never gets old.
