I see this post hasnt been active for a while and there have been new developments that I thought it worth bringing to peoples attention. There was great excitement within the conservation industry when the Tanzanian government announded that the paved road in the Serengeti would not be going ahead. The scrapping of the road was widely reported by the worlds media. Great news you might think, but the real story is that it's not been scrapped completely. It seems that the road is going to go ahead, but rather than being paved it will be gravel. We're just going to have to wait and see what impact this will have on the migration..
