Twin/Sister Cities - What Purpose Do These Serve?
So I was bored and wiki'ed some cities that I hope to travel one day and noticed that at the bottom of each page, each city has a list of "sister" or "twin" cities. For instance, Toronto's sister cities include: Chicago, Milan, and Frankfurt. I had never heard of this before and was wondering if anyone knew what the benefit or purpose of these are? For instance, I've been to Chicago and I can tell you that I ran into people who knew nothing about Toronto (other than it's somewhere in Canada).
