Credit rating question
Hi all, I got a question that hopefully some of you have an answer for. I had my vehicle at a dealership for repairs. While my car was at the dealership, I had their courtesy car. While driving the courtesy car, I was involved in a car accident that was not my fault. The other party wants to claim through insurance and due to a provision of the courtesy car's insurance, I've been advised that I have to pay $700 for the repairs since their insurance has a minimum deductible of $2500. So, basically I have 2 questions. 1) I've told the dealership that I want to get the car repaired at another auto body shop that's been approved by Nissan (authorized repair shop). They advised they can't do that but gave no reasoning. Are they allowed to do this? 2) While signing the papers for the courtesy vehicle, they took down my VISA card info. I don't want them to bill my VISA card before getting all of this settled so I was thinking of reporting a lost card to VISA. If Nissan goes ahead and tries to bill my card, will this affect my credit rating in any way? Also, what avenues could Nissan take in this situation (just want to know the possibilities)
