I saw this dress on Ebay. Looks like one of the ones in China then made according to your measurements. It is really cheap!! Should I go for it? Any horror stories? The sellers feedback is pretty good.

Be careful. For one thing the shipping is very expensive and usually you have to pay US customs charges on top of the shipping cost.

Have you shopped locally? Even the small boutiques are many times less expensive plus you can try one and actually see/feel the fabric. (I sell new wedding gowns ranging from $200-$1400 by Eden Bridal, Watters & Watters, Impression Bridal, etc.)

If you buy one from China, make absolutely sure that you take your measurements correctly. For example, your bust measurement is not your bra size and many people do not realize this. I would add an extra 1/2 " at least on the measurements you give them because otherwise there will be no extra fabric in the dress for any alterations that you may want to have done once you get the dress.

Also, the dress is not going to look exactly like the picture. In the picture the dress is probably shown with a crinoline slip to give it fullness and body. You should be able to buy a slip at a local shop or David's Bridal for about $60.

I was really thinking of doing that but every seller I emailed was horrible at replying back or sounded so desperate that I got worried. Also, when I would give detailed instructions, they would back out and not reply anymore.

I ended up trying on many dresses at shops and found out what styles I like. I then ordered my dress from http://www.bestbridalprices.com
The dress is scheduled to get here for end of October so if you want keep in touch and I'll let you know. But it's an actual designer dress for more than half the price. And it makes sense considering they don't have to deal with customers or try-ons or salespeople or storefront, etc.

I just figured I'd rather pay a few hundred dollars more and have piece of mind (God willing!).

I've heard great feedback from http://ww.houseofbrides.com as well.

All the best

I'm getting mine that way ! Which seller are you going through? I'm using gianinarbridal. They also have a regular web-site too. I'm pretty confident that everything will turn out right.......heck, it HAS to be better than all the horror stories from David's Bridal !

I used gianinarbridal and had a GREAT experience - feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. My dress was EXACTLY like the photo - here are pics from their ad and my actual dress (any 'fading' is from the flash on my camera - the dress is PERFECT).
http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=lgskr25.84v59gpl&x=0&y=x9gu5q

My only costs were the dress & shipping as stated in the eBay auction listing. My dress was custom made to fit me and it fit perfectly! I will incur a cost to press the dress as it was wrinkled during shipping (but for a $219 dress price, I don't mind paying for pressing).

My advice is as follows:

1 - leave yourself plenty of time before your wedding. Shipping delays can happen or you could be disappointed with the final product and want to return or alter it. The seller I had was often willing to correct for errors but that does take time and if you don't have enough then you are putting yourself in a bind.
2 - Also be sure to have someone knowledgeable take your measurements and if you are any part of an inch over, round up to the nearest whole inch - - example: waist is measured at 30 and 1/4 - - - round it to 31.

If It's Cheap, Go For It.& If When It Comes You Don't Like It, Resell On eBay.

That's how I got my dress. I used honey-bridal. And it is so so very beautiful. And it looked just like it did in the pic. The $179.00 I spent was for the dress and for shipping. A great deal for a beautiful dress. And the seller told me it would be 1 month before I received my dress b/c they are custom made to your measurements. And it was exactly 1 month . I would advice you to get your measurements done by a professional. Cost me like $5.. Dont try to do it yourself. And I added a half inch to my measurements. You can always get it altered. I say go for it you would be getting a great deal. And if you dont like it you can always resale it on ebay or craigslist. Goodluck and Congrats

Selling at a profit on eBay is easy when you have kids. People earn hundreds of dollars per month by selling baby related items. Herve Leger dresses on sale, it may be in the form of application, personal information, captcha images or some sort of information. Freelancing is the best option for this type of outsourcing. The Internet has never been easier to get your photographs to buyers.
