Default with Python, how can you import nulbers from a column in a spreadsheet (excel) to a list in the interpreter?

I've got my little function all ready to handle my data but I can't link one to the other. This is rather urgent. With any luck, can anybody explain in a simple fashion how to get the modifications into excel directly, I guess it's possiblme but can't figure it out alone.Thanks

Check out http://pyxlreader.sourceforge.net/This module let's you read in excel files and then you can format them in any way you want.
