No. I honestly think the I-131 is useless. Although the petition for advance parole was approved, the customs officer that will examine you when you come back to the US can deny you entry and your petition for a green card will be denied. The only guaranteed way to use the I-131 is when your I-485 is approved and you need immediate travel outside of the US. In this case, they would stamp your passport so when you try to get back into the US, the customs officer sees that your I-485 was approved.

I am currently married to a U.S. citizen and have applied for a green card. I was originally on a TN Visa and the TN is current until June 15 of this year (2008). My I-131 (advance parole doc.) was recently approved and I am getting it in the mail. Does this mean that I can travel out of the US (To Canada) after the 15th using the I-131 even though my TN is expired?
oh ya, if it makes a difference, I am a canadian citizen
