Default how does a UK citizen remain in the USA after marrying an American on a travel visa??

I'm engaged to a man from the UK. I'm from the united states, he's arriving here later, we had thought about getting married here in the USA before he leaves, he came with a travel visa that allows him to stay for 90 days... honestly i do not want him to go back in 3 months, i'd miss him too much. does anyone know if he'd get in trouble with immigration if he married me without a fiance visa??

if we do get married is there anyway he could stay here with me instead of going back to the UK??

hire an immagration lawyer.it'll cost @ 10000 over the course of a year to get a spousal visa.but you'll be able to keep him here if he has no criminal record.

COnversion, once he Marries you must go to Homeland Security to apply for Resident Card. I-130 and since he came in legally he can remain here to adjust his status.

You get in trouble if you enter the US with the intention of getting married, not if it's a spur of the moment thing. Regardless, getting married on a visa that does not normally allow it attracts more scrutiny to your case.

Your question suggests to me that you already have intent to get married on his tourist visa and that is immigration fraud... I wouldn't try it if I were you. The burden is on you to prove that you did not commit immigration fraud, because they will assume that you did. If you did commit fraud, then that's all the harder to disprove. And they're used to it, trust me. And when you get caught and convicted, your loved one gets deported and banned from entering the US for 10 years. But sure, you can try.

Lots of people are in the same situation and most of them try to do it the right way (fiancé or spousal visa). I did.
It's hard not to see your loved one for months but... you know, we're adults, we get over it. We're proof that long distance relationships can work if you want them to. With the advent of the Internet and advanced means of communications, it's not hard to keep in touch daily. Plus he's in the UK. It's not the Sahara.

Do a K-1 (fiancé visa); that's the honest recommendation from a person who came in on a K-1.

I honestly think he would be in trouble because getting married on a tourist visa or without a fiance visa is like breaking an immigration law. As I can see if you marry either in the States or in the UK, you have to be apart for some time (a few months or a year). If you really wanna get married in the States and he doesn't get in trouble because of his tourist visa, he still can't stay with you. He can apply for another visa to go back to the States and live with you until he gets his green card but during that time he cannot work or study.

Just wondering: as a UK citizen, why does he need a tourist visa at all? As I know he wouldn't, am I wrong?
