Any toy dog pretty much fits what you want. However, just because a dog is small doesn't mean that it will be allowed on an airline.

Go to any shelter and examine the dogs there. Don't buy one from a pet store. Please look at this. This is a world-wide problem. People that really like dogs and who know about puppy mills would NEVER get a puppy from a pet store.

yea, bichon is good. wouldn't usually recommend a purebred, but in your case, since you need to be so specific about the size, a stray in a pound may not work out so well. . .i commend you for knowing that adopting a dog is a lifelong deal, and that you WILL be traveling with it. . . you might also consider a cat. . .some of the orientals (siamese mixes) can be very dog like and love to play and really are very entertaining, and are especially suited for apartment living. good luck!

I live near Houston and wish to travel to South America ~ you rock!

Enjoy all that you can!

I'm not familiar with the social structure in Buenos Aires, but if they have some sort of animal shelter or if there are rescue groups I will ask you to find out and adopt a dog from there - no matter where you live ~ Save A Life!

Alot of people get their heart set on a particular breed and that is fine, but sometimes when we open our hearts to the possibilities we are amazed at what we can find.

There is a beautiful friendship just waiting to happen!
